The house is located at a particular place called les Ormeaux (a regional tree), because these trees were cultivated along the road Deux-Roches many years ago; this place is also located on one of the highest points of the village, which explains the name "Roches" (rocks). It gives a great overview of the fields surrounding the river Charente.
The house, designed according to the local traditions, was built at the end of the 19th century and extended in 1911. Transmitted from generation to generation, this house belongs now to Joël and Françoise Morin. You will find there all the modern comfort associated to the authenticity of a traditional house and you will rapidly feel like at home.
The origins of the house's founder Ferdinand Patarin are encrusted on one of the walls; he came to Saint-Laurent de la Prée in the middle of the 19th century. He belonged to a family established in a another region bordering ours, which symbol was the Coeur de Vendée and you can also see it on the wall next to the initials.
